Complete AI Video Editing Tutorial for Beginners! (2025)

By Justin Brown - Primal Video

Summary

## Key takeaways - **Text-Based Editing Revolution**: Select text to strike through and remove it from the video without deleting; cut, paste, and move chunks to build your story. It's the beauty of both worlds, mixing AI with manual timeline tweaks. [03:51], [04:05] - **One-Click Pause Removal**: Shorten word gaps detects pauses over 1 second and shortens to 0.2-0.3 seconds, cutting a 4:44 video to 2:45 in seconds. For faster-paced videos, set gaps more than 1 second and shorten all. [04:39], [05:28] - **AI Remove Retakes Smartly**: Remove retakes cuts all but your best takes, using the final attempt as the best since you only move on when happy; set to ignore to review easily. It knows you're stuck on repeat and auto-removes. [06:21], [07:08] - **Custom Underlord AI Prompts**: Underlord AI agent follows detailed prompts like ignore filler except unnatural 'so', shorten pauses >1s to 0.2s, use only final takes without cutting sentences. Processes everything automatically per your instructions. [08:53], [10:31] - **Studio Sound Audio Magic**: Studio Sound removes background noise, wind, echo and enhances voice in one click, recovering bad audio to sound awesome. Makes speech louder, crisper with less echo, as shown in before-after demo. [23:03], [24:06] - **Scenes for Dynamic Layouts**: Split with / key to create new scenes for different layouts, zooms, picture-in-picture, or B-roll over speaker; auto-adds smooth transitions. Apply presets per scene for varied video looks. [12:17], [12:52]

In this video, I'm going to take you through a complete AI video editing tutorial for beginners. AI video editing has come so far and with tools like Dscript, they are really changing the

game as far as what's possible and how fast we can create content. So, in this video, I'm going to geek out with you on Dcript, which is my favorite AI video editing tool right now. It's what I'm

using to record this actual video as well. It's what we use to edit our

well. It's what we use to edit our videos now and even use that to upload our videos direct to YouTube. So, it's

so much more than just a video editing tool. So, I'm a massive fan of Dcript.

tool. So, I'm a massive fan of Dcript.

They're really leading the way in terms of AI video editing. So, I reached out to them and they agreed to sponsor this video. And a part of that, they've

video. And a part of that, they've actually given us some promo codes that you can actually use to trial on their creator plan. So, this will let you jump

creator plan. So, this will let you jump in and play around with a lot of their core AI functionality and the stuff that you don't get access to on the free plan. So, make sure you use our promo

plan. So, make sure you use our promo code which is in the description or it'll be in the pinned comment to get access to this special deal and that way you can also follow along with what we're doing in this video too. So, you

need to start off by heading to the Dscript website. We do have a link in

Dscript website. We do have a link in the description box below. Then you need to sign up and sign in. Now, one of the really powerful things with Dcript is that this is going to work whether you're on Mac, whether you're on Windows, whether you're on Linux. This

will run in your web browser. Although

there is a downloadable version if you are on Mac and Windows, but for most of the stuff I'm actually using this for, I'm just running it in the web browser.

So once we're signed in, this is what you will see. You can see all your recent projects and things. We can even see this exact video being recorded into here right now. But then it asks us, what do we want to do? And we've got different like preset actions here for

things like edit a video, create an avatar, edit a podcast. I said this is a really powerful tool. But we're just going to come up here to new project.

And we're going to choose video project.

Now from here we want to go ahead and import our video footage. So we have the option here to import and to upload our video. We can import videos from Zoom.

video. We can import videos from Zoom.

We can paste a link from YouTube. We can

record directly into here as well, which is again what I'm doing here right now.

Or there's even options here to create an AI avatar as a speaker to present your videos for you. I'm going to go through and find a video file to upload.

Now, if you've actually got Dcript download and installed it on your computer, then the uploading just happens in the background. So, you can start working on your project immediately without needing to wait for the files to upload. So, we're then taken to this screen where it's

transcribing the video that we have imported here. So, we can give ourselves

imported here. So, we can give ourselves a speaker name. Just type one in if you don't have one set up here. I have one here for me. I will select that and we can choose done. So, we can see over on

the side here, this transcribing is happening. If we come up here to the

happening. If we come up here to the little hamburger menu here, down to settings, and we scroll down here to where it says labs, this is where we can preview unreleased features today. So,

if you want access to the latest timeline interface, which they're currently rolling out, if you want access to their latest Underlord beta version, which is the latest version of their AI software here inside of

Dscript, then you will need to enable those. So, if you're seeing something

those. So, if you're seeing something different to me right now, then make sure you do have those enabled. So

coming back here, we can see that we have our transcript here all written out. We've got our playback window here

out. We've got our playback window here where we can preview and actually watch our video back. We've got all our tools and everything down the side. And I will run through these in more detail as we

go through. Down the bottom here, we do

go through. Down the bottom here, we do have our timeline area. So we can actually expand this up here. And then

we can view almost like we would in regular video editing software, our timeline. We can actually expand this up

timeline. We can actually expand this up even further where we can even see our audio waveforms. So if you are someone that wants to dive in and do some stuff manually to tidy up in and around what the AI is doing, then we have the

ability to do that here too. So I love this. It's the beauty of both worlds. So

this. It's the beauty of both worlds. So

all we normally would be doing and I want to show you this because this is the power of Dcript and mixing the hybrid workflows between AI and doing things manually is we could just select

this text. We could then strike it

this text. We could then strike it through here and that's now removed from our video. But it's not totally deleted.

our video. But it's not totally deleted.

Like we can bring it back if we needed to. But now if we hit play on our video,

to. But now if we hit play on our video, it's starting directly from that point.

So I love that you can go through here and you can actually edit your video down from text. You could select chunks of text. You could cut and paste and

of text. You could cut and paste and move them around to build out your story. But we're all here for the AI

story. But we're all here for the AI piece, which is what I think is the most exciting piece here. We can actually bypass all of this stuff here ourselves by coming up here to where it says AI

actions. And in here there is a bunch of

actions. And in here there is a bunch of tools that you can use to streamline everything considerably. But where I

everything considerably. But where I recommend you start here is under this sound good section. We've got things in here where we can shorten our word gaps.

So any pauses, any silences, we can in one click here remove them. So if we actually click on this shorten word gaps, you can see it's gone through and it's already highlighted all of these

areas here where there are pauses. But

we can actually get some control over this as well. So what this is actually doing is it's searching through our video here and it's looking for gaps more than in this case 3 seconds. And we

can choose how much we want to shorten them to. So the default here is shorten

them to. So the default here is shorten to 1 second. Now for me in the videos we create they're normally a bit faster paced. So I would normally say gaps more

paced. So I would normally say gaps more than 1 second. Shorten to and I'd go as low as 0.2 0.3 depending on the video itself. And

then I would choose shorten all. And

that's gone ahead and it's actually removed all of those pauses for us. If I

just undo that now, our video here was 4 minutes 44 seconds long. And then after processing this, it's down to 2 minutes 45 seconds already. So primarily we're

left with just the content here at this point. Let's come back here to AI

point. Let's come back here to AI actions. Let's shorten word gaps. We've

actions. Let's shorten word gaps. We've

also got filler word removal here as well. So, this will remove ums, rs, so

well. So, this will remove ums, rs, so repeated words and other verbal clutter.

Again, I've got a lot of verbal clutter when I make a video. So, we can click on this. We do have options to customize

this. We do have options to customize this up. So, it says here all filler

this up. So, it says here all filler words or we can pick which ones that we want here. Now, I tend to start a lot of

want here. Now, I tend to start a lot of sentences with the word so. So, I'm

going to untick so. And then from here, we could then hit remove all. And it's

going to go ahead and take all of those out. Now, we can see here that we're now

out. Now, we can see here that we're now even shorter on our video length. Let's

come back here to AI actions. We've also

got one here that says remove retakes.

This will get to the good stuff. It will

cut all but your best takes. So, if we press on this one here. Now, for this, I do like to change it from delete to just ignore. So, that way if we ignore it, we

ignore. So, that way if we ignore it, we can still see it here in the script to easily bring it back, but also to easily see at a glance what it was that was removed. And then we can choose submit.

removed. And then we can choose submit.

And it's going through and it's processing these or finding these for us here. And if we just have a look at

here. And if we just have a look at this. Let's just scroll through our

this. Let's just scroll through our video here. I'll close this to get this

video here. I'll close this to get this out of the way. You could have the world's best video. If no one clicks on it, no one's going to see it. Right? So,

it's now used the second version of this. Or really, it's used the one that

this. Or really, it's used the one that the AI thinks is the better version of this. If we keep coming down here, we

this. If we keep coming down here, we can see I started a sentence. So, to

help you with this, I started again. So

to help you with this, and I've done it a few times, so the AI knows that I'm stuck on repeat. And it's automatically removed all of this stuff for us. So

this will get you very close, very, very fast. Is it perfect? No. There's an

fast. Is it perfect? No. There's an

example here on the screen where it says, I think that was better. So I

finished the take and I think that was better. Right? We obviously don't want

better. Right? We obviously don't want that in the video. So we could select that and we could just scratch that from our video and it's gone. So this is doing the AI tools almost manually.

Sounds a bit silly. AI tools, automated tools manually. So we did go through the

tools manually. So we did go through the remove filler words. We went remove retakes and we shortened the word gaps.

But there is a tool here edit for clarity which does do a lot of this for you. So it says that this will remove

you. So it says that this will remove the filler words, the digressions, the blather and all obvious cuts for you all in this one tool. So if we press on this then we can choose here the level of

intensity for our edit. We also have the option here with this to use AI speech.

So if the AI thinks that you could have said something a bit better or it needs to fix or adjust something that you've said in your video, then we can use this AI speech here to reword and regenerate

small parts of the script to improve the flow. I mean that's pretty crazy. But

flow. I mean that's pretty crazy. But

for me, the downside with using this tool, edit for clarity, is that we don't have the level of control that we did by doing these things manually and being able to key in things like the gap of

our pauses and how much we actually want to shorten them by. But my absolute favorite feature in Dscript, and it's to do with a lot of these things, is their new Underlord AI, their AI agent built

here into Dscript. Now, this is one of those tools that we needed to turn on to enable the beta access for this. back

here under the settings settings. I

think we went to labs down the bottom here. We want this new underlord beta on

here. We want this new underlord beta on and that brings up this little window here where we can just give it text prompts and tell it what we want it to do. So, we could get specific and build

do. So, we could get specific and build out a bunch of these prompts over time if there's things that we do for every video. So, to give you an example here,

video. So, to give you an example here, this is an AI prompt that we are currently using when we're editing our videos using Dscript. This is what we're asking the AI agent, the underlord here

to do. So, we've got here, please

to do. So, we've got here, please perform the following tasks to edit this video. Number one, remove. Now, I've got

video. Number one, remove. Now, I've got here set to ignore. Don't actually

remove from the script the filler words.

Except the word so, as I showed you, cuz I say it a lot. Only where they don't flow naturally in a sentence as well.

It's not remove all filler words. Only

remove them if they are unnaturally in the sentence. The second step then is to

the sentence. The second step then is to remove again set to ignore. Don't

actually remove all gaps and pauses greater than 1 second and shorten them to 0.2 seconds. And third step, remove set to ignore all bad takes and

mistakes. Strictly do not cut sentences

mistakes. Strictly do not cut sentences in half. Where there is a mistake, a

in half. Where there is a mistake, a double up or a retake, I want you to only use the final take or attempt in its entirety. The last take will always

its entirety. The last take will always be the best one and the one that I would like you to always use. very specific

there because how I shoot my videos is that I will only move on to the next section, the next sentence when I'm happy with the last one. So I can give this instructions here as I would to our

video editor. I can give them to the AI

video editor. I can give them to the AI tool here, the underlord here in Dscript and it can do all of those for us. So we

can just copy and paste this here into Dcript and we can see here that it's going to go through and it's going to process all of that automatically. Now,

obviously, this is barely scratching the surface of what you can do in here with this AI prompt. And we do have a video where I was geeking out on this further, which I'll have linked in the description box below. But we can see here we're getting an update. All

requested edits have been completed. All

gaps and pauses have been removed, and all bad takes have been removed. No

sentences were cut in half. Your script

now reads naturally with only the best takes included, or unnecessary pauses and filler words removed. Let me know if you'd like to further refine any aspects. So, this is where we could go

aspects. So, this is where we could go ahead and we could ask it to add relevant B-roll to switch between different scenes, different layouts. So,

I wanted to mention it at this point here in the video because as I dive into some of these other tools, know that we can come back here and build out a prompt to actually get this AI agent, the underlord here, to do this for us

over time. But you've got to understand

over time. But you've got to understand what the things are in Dcript that you can actually use that you could then trigger from there. So, what I would do at this point is I would obviously go through and I would play the video and I

would make sure that everything is the way that we want it. As I said, it's not perfect, but this is going to allow you to get so close. You can see our video now is down to a minute and 5 seconds.

Now, the way Dcript works in terms of bringing in additional clips, giving you control over titles and things. It runs

with what they call scenes. So, every

new scene is essentially a new layout or a new look for your video. So right now we can see we've got this one scene here with this little icon and that's the only one here. If I make any changes

here, it's applying to our entire video at this point. But let's say that I get to this point here in the script and I want to change up I want to zoom in the shot here at this point. Then we can

just come down here to split and that's going to add a scene for us. You can

also use the forward slash key on the keyboard. Really really quick way to

keyboard. Really really quick way to access it. But at this point so far

access it. But at this point so far nothing has changed. But if we select on this and we apply different things to this, different looks, different scaling, whatever it might be. Maybe

we'll zoom this in a little bit here.

Let's scale it up. And that's now applied to this second scene. So if we go back to the first scene here, that's normal. So all of this is going to look

normal. So all of this is going to look like this until this point here. And

then when we play this piece, it's now going to in our case zoom in.

And you can see that there was a transition or effect that happened with this too. Let me play that again. to see

this too. Let me play that again. to see

it. So you need So it's a nice smooth transition between the two scenes. Now

each scene can also have different preset layouts for things as well. So

you can see here we've got the layout section here and we can choose what we want this to look like depending on the video that we're making and how we've shot this. So there are presets here for

shot this. So there are presets here for different zoom levels as well. We can

also have like a picture in picture effect if we're recording our computer screen. Again, that's exactly how I'm

screen. Again, that's exactly how I'm making this video right now. And we can switch between different layouts. We can

make our own layouts. There's multicam

stuff in here. There's presets in here for full screen titles. And there's lots of different layout packs or preset groups that you can download and you can install into your Dscript account as

well. So, let's say that we wanted to

well. So, let's say that we wanted to add in some B-roll footage, whether that was from our computer or whether that was from the stock library here. Let's

say that we wanted to bring in a clip just before we start to say so. So

again, I'll press the forward slash on the keyboard here. I can then come over here to stock. And then in here, we can just search for what we need. So it's

got YouTube video. Maybe we'll pick this clip here. And we can see that that clip

clip here. And we can see that that clip has been added here in our timeline.

It's highlighted blue, how long it's on screen for. But if we expand out our

screen for. But if we expand out our timeline here, make it a bit bigger.

Then we can actually adjust the clip length here as well as we would with regular video editing software. we can

actually pick it up and move it around wherever we actually want to have this clip in the video. So, we're not just limited to it being locked within a scene, but the scenes are a great way to

start to build up these different looks and changes throughout your video. So,

if we're playing this section now, your thumbnail image also needs to be related to your video content. So, best case scenario, we can see that we've now got that clip playing over the top of me.

So, we would have the ability here then to apply some of those presets or those layouts. We could make adjustments to

layouts. We could make adjustments to this. We could scale it up and down.

this. We could scale it up and down.

Maybe we will switch the layout here to be a picturein picture screen layout where I'm more on the screen here. And

we've got our stock footage. We've got

our screen share there as the primary piece of that shot. And we can easily just switch this back to full screen camera if we wanted that as well. Now,

if we did want to import other clips or anything from our computer, we can always come over here to project and then we can hit the plus button here and we can upload from our computer, import

from Zoom, all of those same places as we did earlier in the project. So,

you're not just limited to what you bring in at the start. You can keep adding stuff to really build this out over time. And this is another area as

over time. And this is another area as well where the underlord here can help you by finding some of those B-roll or stock footage clips for you or suggesting different layouts for different times of your video if you

type that in down the bottom here. So,

we got here, please add B-roll clips to my video to make it more engaging. And

it says this will help keep your audience interested and visually reinforce your message. Nice. So, it's

analyzing everything. It's got our script. It knows what's happening in the

script. It knows what's happening in the video and it can then go and try and find relevant clips. So, we can see that that's done there. Now, it's gone through, it's changed up our scenes, our

layouts here as well. It's brought in different stock footage from their library here. And you can see it's even

library here. And you can see it's even got transitions between everything without any extra guidance. I didn't

pick a layout here, but we could definitely pick a layout up front and get it to add all of this stuff in here for us. Now, for this video and showing

for us. Now, for this video and showing you how to edit in here, I'm just going to hit roll back so we can undo the last round of changes that we asked the AI to do. But let's say that we want to add a

do. But let's say that we want to add a title into our video. Let's come back towards the start here. We can then come over here to elements and we've got a text box here that we can add title,

subtitle or text. I'm going to pick title. We got text box here on the

title. We got text box here on the screen that we can type in what we want.

We can adjust the size. Maybe I'll bring this down so we've got more room. Let's

change our font. And let's make it this color here. All right. So, we can pick

color here. All right. So, we can pick this up. We can move it around. We can

this up. We can move it around. We can

scale it up and down. on all of that usual stuff. And we can see that we've

usual stuff. And we can see that we've got the text down the bottom here in our timeline, too. So, it's actually taken

timeline, too. So, it's actually taken the entire scene there because we had a scene specified, but we can also override that. So, we can adjust the

override that. So, we can adjust the start time of that clip. We can adjust the end time of that clip to customize that up for how we actually want it there on screen. So, if we played this

section now, you could have the world's best video, but if no, then text comes on at that point. Now we can easily add extra effects like shadows and things onto our text here. We can also add

animation. So we can animate this in. We

animation. So we can animate this in. We

can have a blur in, spin in, wipe in. In

as in coming into the screen or on screen and then out is leaving the screen. And so we can just pick those

screen. And so we can just pick those here. So that's how easy it is to add

here. So that's how easy it is to add static titles like this. But if we wanted to add captions and we can do that here as well. There's a dedicated area here for captions. Again, so many to choose from, different layouts and

styles and things. I like this one here, the karaoke classic. We can select on this and it's now been added because it's already got your text here that it's just applying that text and it

knows the timing and everything. So,

that that text is good to go. But if no one clicks on it, no one's going to see it. So, you need to get your content

it. So, you need to get your content clicked on. Pretty cool. But obviously,

clicked on. Pretty cool. But obviously,

we can customize them up. And there's a bunch of presets and stuff in here, too.

Now, if we actually click on our video layer itself here, and then we come over here to layer, then we can dive deeper into the settings for that specific thing. And this will apply to any of the

thing. And this will apply to any of the layers that we actually have here in our scene. But let's make sure we got our

scene. But let's make sure we got our primary clip selected. This is where we can adjust the speed. So, if you want to speed up or slow down your clip, you can do that here. If we want to adjust the sizing or anything, we can do that. But

we can also just click on the clip here and resize and rescale as I showed you earlier. We can also adjust the cropping

earlier. We can also adjust the cropping and zooming. We can flip it. We can

and zooming. We can flip it. We can

rotate it all with the tools here. And

one thing that I do find really handy is this position area is that we can actually just have these presets here for different positions for what we've got selected. So, we can just go fill

got selected. So, we can just go fill the scene and it's back to full screen.

But down here under visual effects, this is where there's a bunch of other stuff in here. Really, really powerful stuff.

in here. Really, really powerful stuff.

Things like being able to blur your speaker background or remove the speaker background altogether. Now depending on

background altogether. Now depending on how long your clip is, this might take a little bit to process to analyze your clip and allow you to adjust the level of blur in the background. So we can see that that's actually happening here now.

But while that's happening, if we hit the plus, there's other things like uh chroma key. Our color adjustments are in

chroma key. Our color adjustments are in here. There is an amazing eye contact

here. There is an amazing eye contact feature where if you are looking off camera here now, it'll shift your eyes so that you're back looking at the camera. It's a little creepy, but I

camera. It's a little creepy, but I think it can help so many people create videos that might have a fear of being on camera and just need to read something off to the side. Right. So, we

can see that that background blur is actually done here now. And again, we can adjust the settings. We could dial that back a little bit there. I mean,

that looks pretty good. And if we wanted to do a before and after, cuz there already was some blur, then this is with it off and this is with it on. So, at

this point in the process, you want to go through add any of those effects and things on. get them dialed in the way

things on. get them dialed in the way that you like. Then we're going to shift focus to audio. So this is where again we could come over here to project and we could import our own music and sound

effects and things, but there is again the stock footage and music and sound effect library here in Dcript as well.

So we can come over here to audio. You

can see that there's a bunch of music and sound effects here. And we can search through them or we could go show all and we can browse through them. But

let's just say that we wanted this actual track here. We can just hit the plus. That's then importing it into our

plus. That's then importing it into our project and it will add it down here into our timeline. Let's expand this up.

So again, just like any other clip, we can pick it up. We can move it around.

Now, because I was on scene two here, not the first one, it's borded in starting at that point. So we want this to start at the start of our project.

Let's move that back to the start. And

let's expand this out so that it goes for the length of our video here. We can

easily do things as well like add a fade in or fade out. You can see we've got that little white circle. If we drag that back, then our audio is going to fade out at the end. I just love how simple and easy this stuff is to do in

here. But now that our audio track is in

here. But now that our audio track is in here with it selected, we again want to make sure that we're over here on the layers panel as well. And we can then adjust our audio volume for this down so that it's not going to be too

overpowering. I would suggest you doing

overpowering. I would suggest you doing this piece with headphones on so you're getting your volume set right for where you want it. But also know that dscript does a pretty good job of doing this automatically for you as well. So we can

see here if I press the little menu option here, it's actually adjusted the clip volume here to 51.3%. So this is lowered it down for us based on there

being a spoken piece in here as well. So

I love that it's automatically doing this piece for you. But obviously we can override this. We could adjust it. We

override this. We could adjust it. We

could lower it down a bit more if we wanted. Again, this is a creative

wanted. Again, this is a creative personal preference piece, but there's also a tool in here for audio ducking.

And what this will do will automatically lower and raise the volume of the music in and around the spoken piece. So, if

there's a piece where you're not talking, then it'll boost the volume of the music up and then when you start talking, it'll lower that back down.

Again, all this stuff really, really easy. So, we can just trigger that on

easy. So, we can just trigger that on off with the audio effect here. But for

those of you that want to geek out and go further with the audio controls, obviously this is a good podcast editing tool as well, then there's a lot of the different dynamics and equalizer adjustments and things that you can make

in here too. Now, the next thing from here would be to adjust your spoken piece and see if we need to do any enhancements or anything on that. Again,

this is another area that Dcript does do by itself. It does do a very good job of

by itself. It does do a very good job of this, getting volume levels and things right for you. But if we select our primary camera footage here in the timeline, we then do get to specify are we selecting this to make adjustments in

just the current scene or are we wanting to make adjustments to this clip across all scenes. So it is important that you

all scenes. So it is important that you recognize the two differences up here.

So we'll make sure we're on all scenes.

We can then come down here to audio effects and we can add here studio sound. The other way that we can access

sound. The other way that we can access this is up here under AI actions because this is AI functionality and we've got studio sound here as well. So, we can see that straight away goes off and does its thing. Uh, it says here that this

its thing. Uh, it says here that this removes background noises and enhances your voices. And this is where we've

your voices. And this is where we've really been able to recover some audio that wasn't great and be able to have it sound awesome just from this one click and from this tool here as well. So, to

give you an example of this, maybe we'll just mute the music track here now. So,

select it. Let's come over here to layer. Let's just turn off that music.

layer. Let's just turn off that music.

So, we're just only going to hear me speaking. Now, right now, we do have the

speaking. Now, right now, we do have the studio sound effect applied here. So,

I'm going to turn that off. Now, this

audio wasn't bad to begin with. So,

let's just play a section of this. Let's

come back to the start so you can hear it. And then we'll turn it back on.

it. And then we'll turn it back on.

Could have the world's best video, but if no one clicks on it, no one's going to see it. So, you need to get your content clicked on. Okay, so that's before. Let's turn it on. Have the

before. Let's turn it on. Have the

world's best video, but if no one clicks on it, no one's going to see it. So, you

need to get I can definitely hear it is a little bit louder, a little bit crisper, and it's like it's sharpened up the audio a little bit as well. There's

definitely less echo, too. But, we've

been able to use this to remove a chunk of background noise, wind, and really recover some pretty bad sound. So, once

you're happy with your video and it's time to save it out, we can come up here to export. We've got a bunch of

to export. We've got a bunch of different options. We can save out just

different options. We can save out just the subtitles or the transcript. We can

save it out as a text file if we'd like to. We also have the ability to save out

to. We also have the ability to save out our timeline and export it into other tools like Da Vinci Resolve or Final Cut. And that used to be our workflow,

Cut. And that used to be our workflow, but now we just use Dscript for everything. So, if we come back over

everything. So, if we come back over here to video, then we can export this as a web link, Dcript web link, where we can then share that around almost like a Loom style video. So, if we want someone

to preview our video to add comments and give feedback or we just want to share something out quick, then we can just generate a web link from that. You also

have the ability to do obviously a local export to save a video file to your computer, which is what I imagine most people would do. But again, there's also that direct export to YouTube here too and other places like Google Drive as

well, which is really handy if you're using that like we are. So, I'm going to pick local export. We can then choose our video quality. Now, this video here was only 1080p recording. It wasn't 4K

or we would then have an option for 4K.

So, I'm going to pick here the maximum.

We can then choose our quality. I'm

going to go the highest. We can dial in our audio settings here, but for most people, just leaving those as default is going to be all you'll need. And then

all we need to do is hit export, and that file is going to export out for us.

Now, one more really powerful thing that I want to show off here in Dscript is the reformatting feature. So, let's say that we've finished this video and we now want to do a portrait version of it.

First off, I would suggest that we are duplicating this. So, we go to project,

duplicating this. So, we go to project, we've got our file here. Let's just

duplicate that. So, we've got a separate version and we could name this one here portrait. Make sure that we do have that

portrait. Make sure that we do have that one selected. And then we can come over

one selected. And then we can come over here and we can change this from landscape to portrait. And that's going to go ahead and switch our project to the other format. So now at this point,

we could go through and we could scale everything up manually and get everything looking the way that we want and reformatting, repositioning everything scene by scene. We could also

do it by making adjustments across all scenes and doing this a bit quicker. Or

there's also some AI functionality to help. We could literally just ask the

help. We could literally just ask the underlord to reformat everything for 9 by6 for portrait. Or we've also got with our camera selected here. If we come over here to AI actions, there's an

option here to center the active speaker, which it says we'll keep the active speaker smack dab in the center.

So it's automatically going to line everything up for you. So, now that you're across the fundamentals of editing here in Dscript, and now that you know a lot of the cool functionality you got access to, this is where we can

start to build out some of those prompts for your specific workflows, for your specific videos in that Underlord here to do things like apply different

effects, to reformat a video for you if you'd like, to create different versions. This is seriously the power

versions. This is seriously the power here where we can build out our own custom prompts to be able to automate a lot of this heavy lifting. Now, if you want to geek out on Dcript even further,

we've got some other related videos linked on screen. Don't forget to grab your promo code for an extended trial.

And as always, we've got a bunch of other links and resources in the description box below to help you even further. I'll see you in the next one.

further. I'll see you in the next one.
