I Visited 50 States in 50 Days - Day 28

Good morning, chef. Pretty much anybody who's a chef, good morning. It is day 28 of visiting all 50 states in 50 days. We

are currently in Connecticut and last night we stayed in this super cool river loft cottage. We got surprised with Chef

loft cottage. We got surprised with Chef Jeremy who made us the most amazing meal ever. So, yesterday was special, but

ever. So, yesterday was special, but today's going to be super cool as well because we're going to a new state and a new Airbnb. Let's get ready for the day.

First things first, I brushed my teeth.

I can't believe this is a habit now.

Next, I put on some beard oil. I don't

even really know what this stuff does, but it smells good. I made myself a cup of coffee. I wish I went to Yale. I

went for a run. So far, I've run in every state that we've been to and I'm going for all 50. I think I can do it. I

It is composed of six states. They're

all pretty small, so it won't feel like we're making that much progress, but we are. Haley, any guesses of what state

That's actually a pretty good guess, but it's not New England. Oh, I don't know.

Our next state is none other than the smallest state in America, Rhode Island.

excited. It's about a 2-hour drive, which is not much, but we are going to stop in New Haven, Connecticut, and get some really good pizza. In terms of the next Airbnb, I have good news and bad

didn't let me finish. The good news is it has been renovated. So, it's kind of like it's scary but with a hot tub. It

still looks pretty spoopy though. I

meant to say spooky, man. Now, yesterday

we had the biggest donation day yet, and we are getting eerily close to $3 million raised, which activates the switch. Basically, any of the panels on

We are from Texas and New England feels like such a mythical place to us. And

still a little early in the day for pizza, I think. But, I mean, you're hungry. Very. I feel like we've eaten

season, we had pizza and we were like, it's been a year since we've had pizza.

Now, every day, we love eating pizza and watching football. But in the

think it's one of the coolest Airbnbs in Rhode Island. It has nearly a perfect

loved it. Yeah, cuz I bet they love scary stuff. Well, actually, I feel like

Like the enthusiasm for the bathroom in the reviews is actually unreal. There

was an entire HD TV episode dedicated to this house. It's a pretty amazing

this house. It's a pretty amazing remodel and I'm excited. I would say pretty much the only spooky part of the house truly is kind of like the third floor and also there's an elevator that

looks really scary. There's like a phone in it. Here are some of the amenities.

There's a barbecue grill, a fire pit, coffee, mini fridge, and much more. It's

going to be a good time. I'm I think we're going to be okay. We parked so Haley could look. What do you think? The

all the animals. I even got scuba certified for that video. It's insane to think that we are here and we drove from Texas. That's really putting in

We're inside the house. The big front door actually doesn't open, which is kind of a relief cuz it was it looks scary.

[Music] You actually walk in through the kitchen, which is super nice for the scariest house in America. I think it's actually pretty comfortable in here. As

a matter of fact, pretty cozy. They've

got an oven, some cool art, a coffee maker, and let's face it, there's nothing scary about a cookie jug. This

serving dish is pretty spooky, though.

I'll give them that. Just past the kitchen is the living room. This is the main place to hang out here, I'd say.

Beside the living room and scary front door is the dining table. We also found the washer and dryer in this area.

pretty brave. And oh my gosh, look at this. It is wild up here. There's a

I'm in the main bedroom now. How was

main bedroom is the room to the left here. It's quite nice and cozy,

this bathtub. It is huge. And that's not all. Complimentary toothbrushes. I'm

It's pretty weird. And finally, the main attraction of this Airbnb, in my opinion, other than the general looks of it, the phone booth elevator. This

elevator is the only way to get to the third floor. And it seems sketchy. It

does. There's only two buttons, start and stop. That feels like they're not

and stop. That feels like they're not even guaranteeing your arrival to the destination. It's like, yeah, we'll

destination. It's like, yeah, we'll start and stop, but we're not going to promise you win. Haley got scared when I tried to ride the elevator earlier when she was up there with me. So, I'm going to go do it by myself now. All right,

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared right now. I'm like one of the most

right now. I'm like one of the most riskaverse people I know. But also, how many times you get to come through this house and ride this elevator? All right,
