Hello everyone, today
we're going to teach you
how to set your iPhone's ringtone
. Any video or music
can be converted into an iPhone ringtone
, and the process is super simple and quick – you
don't need to download anything
or open any websites.
Let's get started!
First, I'll quickly explain the steps.
On the screen
are the apps we'll be using today.
Some of them are Shortcuts
and GarageBand,
which
you might be unfamiliar with .
You need to download GarageBand from the App Store.
Today we'll have three steps
. The first step is screen recording
. The second step is converting the screen recording into an audio file.
We'll use
the Shortcuts app
for this. The third step
is using GarageBand
to set the audio file as a ringtone.
If you already have your audio file ready,
you can proceed directly to the third step.
Just a quick note:
if you've seen my videos
before
or have used Shortcuts
and found
that it doesn't work
on iPhone 17 or iOS 26,
the problem is that it
only works on iCloud.
This is for iOS. It's a bug on my end,
so if you have any problems, you can
try this method. Okay, now
let's move on to our first step today,
which is screen recording.
First, we need to find
the video we want to record.
After finding it,
we open the control center in the upper right corner
and find the screen recording icon
. If you don't see it, long press on an empty space
and you 'll see an option to add it to the control
list . Find the middle screen recording icon
and add it to our control list.
Press it, and it will count down for three seconds.
At this time, we quickly play our music.
Remember to turn the sound on while it's playing.
Record for a maximum of about 30 seconds.
After recording, press
the red dot on the dynamic island above
, and it will ask if you want to stop.
Then press stop, and
it will be saved to the album.
You can also go to the album to listen to it and see
if you didn't record it successfully
. Next,
let's move on to the shortcuts section.
Shortcuts are very simple
; we just need to write a tiny little program ourselves. It's
very, very simple
. If you're really lazy,
I'll put the shortcut link in the information bar so
you can download it directly
. Now, open Shortcuts
and click the top right corner
. We're going to create a new shortcut
. In the search bar below, type "code".
Look for the first "code media" and add it.
Then, there's a semi-transparent blue "media" option;
click it. Then, type "shortcut"
in the input field above. There's
also a semi-transparent "no space" option;
click it. You'll see a "share form" option; turn it
on.
Okay, then finish. Click "Done" in the top right corner
. Then, click the arrow on the right
to open the drop-down menu
. There's an option for "Audio Only"; turn it on. Next
, click the search bar again
. We need to search for "save"
and add the first "save file". OK
. That's it
! Super easy, right?
Now, let's slightly
rename
this shortcut.
Click "Rename" on the "Save File" page
. I'll rename it to "Video to Audio File."
Okay.
Next, go back to the Photos
app. Find the screen recording you just created,
and then click the share menu in the bottom left corner
. You'll see
a "Video to Audio File"
option ; click
it. It will ask you to select a folder
, right? The default folder is likely in iCloud
so
just select "iCloud Drive." Don't select any other folder,
because I found that storing it on my phone might not work.
So, select "
iCloud Drive."
Now, let's go to the Files app and
see if the conversion was successful.
Open the file and look under "iCloud Drive."
It might have two names
: RP Replay
or Screen. Recording
might be the name of your phone.
You can click on it to listen and
confirm that everything is okay. Then,
we'll move on to the third step
: using GarageBand
to set your phone's ringtone. After
opening GarageBand,
you'll see a keyboard
.
Swipe left to the Recorder app
and tap it. Then, tap the horizontal bar in the upper left corner
and turn off the blue metronome in the middle.
Then, tap the plus sign on the right and
add a
measure number to the A section.
Next, tap the circle at the top
and select File.
Below, there's an option to select From File App. In the project browsing section
, you might directly see the file we just converted
, or you can go to iCloud,
find your file,
and press
it. Wait a moment, and it will appear at the top
. Press and hold it, then
drag it onto the track. After dragging
it onto the track,
you can adjust its length
as needed.
Our ringtone's maximum length is 30 seconds.
Next, an important point
is how to turn it up loud.
Press the blue track;
a menu will appear
. Then press the settings on the right;
there's a gain option
. You can turn it up louder.
Make sure the track
doesn't distort
or
crackle . After adjusting, press "Done." Then,
click on the track;
you'll see handles on the left and right sides.
If you want to adjust the beginning and end...
You can adjust it like this
. You can also long-press to move it forward or backward.
After that,
tap the downward triangle in the upper left corner,
then tap "My Songs."
Next, long-press "My Songs,"
then tap "Share.
" Tap the middle "Ringtone" button
to name your ringtone.
Then tap
the upper right corner for output and
select "Use Sound as Ringtone.
" That completes the setting.
Now, let's go into the settings
and see the ringtone we just set.
In the settings, find "Sound Effects & Haptic Feedback."
See, our ringtone has become "The Little Mermaid"?
Tap it
. On this screen,
if you want to
delete a failed ringtone,
you can swipe left.
There's a delete option there.
Did everyone succeed?
If you have any questions,
feel free to leave a comment below.
Isn't it very simple?
Really simple, right?
During
the process, my iOS 26 often
crashed
or suspended,
especially in GarageBand.
So if this happens to you, it's perfectly normal. Also,
to add a little something,
the shortcuts we just created are reusable.
You can delete the original screen recording and the file itself
, since the ringtone is already set.
Basically, you can delete everything
except the shortcut
. To reuse it,
simply record a new screen recording
and then
set it as the ringtone using the same shortcut and method.
That's all for today's video.
I hope everyone has successfully set it up.
See you in the next video! Bye-bye!
