my productive routine living alone in NYC

Summary
## Key takeaways - **Big Breakfast Anchors Calorie Goals**: Hitting 3,800 calories per day for a moderate bulk starts with a 900-calorie fried egg wrap and turkey bacon breakfast providing 44g of protein. Without this big morning meal, the rest of the day requires constant eating to meet the goal. [01:13], [01:37] - **Wake at 6:30 for Productive Mornings**: Waking up at 6:30 a.m. sets a strong start, followed by breakfast and leaving the house by 7:30 to avoid the slow feeling of working at home. Travel sometimes disrupts this, but consistency builds great days. [01:47], [02:00] - **Hotel Lobby Boosts Work Focus**: Working from a hotel lobby recreates the productive vibe of traveling, where ordering just a coffee enables focused morning sessions away from home's distractions. This setup helps simulate a co-working experience. [02:13], [02:25] - **Tracking Habits Drives Measurable Improvements**: An Excel dashboard logs wake time, weight, sleep score, calories, protein, and screen time, auto-ranking progress like in Valorant to motivate daily enhancements. Measuring every day ensures no accidental accomplishments in key life areas. [06:17], [07:13] - **Collaborating Beats Solo Work**: Working with a friend like Vince provides the co-worker experience missing from solo routines, making productivity better than isolated efforts. Meeting up with remote-working friends replicates office dynamics effectively. [03:11], [03:19] - **Eight Hours Sleep Ensures Peak Days**: Eight hours of sleep leads to amazing days, while less causes poor performance, so it's never sacrificed despite other trade-offs. The Oura Ring's morning sleep score acts as a report card guiding adjustments. [12:42], [13:08]

[music] Did you ever feel like you want to be someone else for [music] just one day?
Did you ever feel like you want to see through another [music] pair of eyes?
Did you ever think I might want to be with anyone else for just one [music] day?
Did you ever really think of me when I walked away? The book the dunks in [music] the bottle of Jack. The smokes a slouch at my eyes.
You think you know what you think you'll find. [music] You think you'll figure me out tonight.
But you'll never know what I won't share. Cuz I don't care.
I don't care. You think you'll figure me out tonight, but I don't care. And I wonder [music] if I should.
>> All right, I just picked up some breakfast from Curve Vita. There's like a few things that I need to do every day to feel like I had a great day. And one of those things is hitting my calorie goal for the day. I'm doing like a little bulk right now, not an excessive one. And so I'm trying to hit 3,800 calories per day.
And usually if I eat this fired egg wrap from Pure Vita with some turkey bacon, it's like 900 calories, 44 g of protein. Sometimes I'll eat at home, but if I'm in a rush or if I have nothing in my fridge, this is kind of like my go-to.
Getting the big breakfast in for me literally just helps me hit that goal.
If I don't eat this big breakfast, I'm just cooked for the rest of the day.
I have to like eat basically every second. But yeah, 1,000 calories first thing in the morning. I can just eat like a normal person for the rest of the day.
I've been pretty locked in recently. This year I started trying to wake up at 6:30 in the morning and I've been doing it on and off depending on travel.
Like sometimes I'll travel and it'll get all screwed up. But today I woke up 6:30 a.
m. It's getting cold now. So honestly the mornings are getting tougher and depending on whether I eat breakfast at home or not. I try to leave the house by like 7:30.
I just feel like I have to go somewhere to work in the mornings.
So, I just stayed at home. It just feels so slow. All right, I just finished my breakfast.
I'm actually about to go in here to work. This is a hotel lobby.
I'm not going to say which one, but I've been coming here in the mornings just to work.
I love the feeling of working out of a hotel lobby when I'm traveling.
So, I get to recreate that feeling here in New York. I literally just order a coffee and I work out of there all morning. But yeah, we got our early morning wake up. We got our big breakfast in and about to get a work session in.
So, we're off to a good start on the morning, but we got a lot more to do today. So, I'm going to take you guys along, share my formula for a really productive, solid day. All right, let's do it. >> How are you? Welcome.
>> Yeah, good morning.
[music] All right, just finished solid work session. It's 100 p.m. now.
>> [sighs] >> I'm so hungry and tired. Got a lot of work done. Still have more to do, though.
I'm here with Vince. Vince from Taiwan. [laughter] Vince and I have been working together a lot.
It's been really good, honestly, because I used to just work alone, and working with someone is so much better than working alone. I feel like I'm pretty used to working alone, but I have lots of friends who also work for themselves or maybe work remote. So, it's just nice to like meet up with friends and get work done together. And I feel like the uh co-orker experience is something that I never really got to experience. So, getting some work done with friends is kind of the closest thing I have to that. Anyways, I'm going to go home for my lunch break now since I've been going for like 5 hours and I'm starving.
Yeah, I'm going to go. Are you going to leave soon? Oh, you are? Okay. Oh my god.
Don't bother. Okay. All right. See you in a bit. Bye. All right, I got this package.
I think it's a tripod that I ordered. I don't know why, but I keep breaking all my tripods.
All right, this is the new feature of the new tripod. Are you ready? Oh, sick.
It just opens up and then you can put it down. It's kind of fun. Just do this.
That's pretty useful actually. It's very quick, which is something I need.
All right, for lunch today, we have a chicken schwarma bowl.
It's 800 calories, got 38 g of protein, and it's from this meal kit service that I get once a week. I like that it has the calories and the macros listed here, so I can just type it into my nutrition app. I feel like calculating the macros on things is kind of hard unless it's already written out for you.
Obviously, you can make an estimate, but I like knowing exactly what I'm eating.
Also, just really convenient, I guess, to have meals ready, especially during the week.
I feel like I don't really have that much time to cook.
And yeah, it tastes good. So, no complaints. Check it out. Yum. I'm starving. All >> [snorts] >> right, I just had lunch. That's my new poster, by the way. I just put it up the other day.
I feel like I can add some more like over here maybe, but I've just been busy.
I have not had the chance to figure out what I want to do with the apartment.
Like, I need to buy some plans or something. But yeah, anyways, we've been working on a lot of other things. When it comes to work, I'm mostly working on YouTube stuff. By the way, I'm trying to hire some editing help.
So, if you're an editor, you should shoot me an email with your portfolio.
I work on stuff for my brand Copyright. We actually just did a drop which went really well. There's like a few sizes left. I think we're sold out of a bunch of sizes, but you can check it out if you want. And yeah, I'm working on some like side project stuff. I'm always working on something on the side actually, but right now I'm really excited about one of my side projects.
Since it's just a side project for now, I'll just leave it at that.
But another thing I've been working on is this Excel sheet that I'm staring at. So this Excel sheet that I'm working on is essentially like a tracker of all my daily habits.
So, when I wake up in the morning, I log what time I woke up, my weight in the morning, and my sleep score from my Aura ring the night before. And then at the end of the day, I log my total calorie intake, my protein intake, and the next morning, I'll write down how much screen time I had the night before.
And yeah, have a few other things I like to track, but those were the big ones.
Essentially, what I built is a dashboard where I can see how I'm doing each month.
And I actually created this little fun ranking system based off of Valerant where depending on the category and your current metric for it, it'll put you in a rank and it'll actually autocategorize it. This is like somewhat of a interesting formula. And yeah, it just auto updates and it gives you a rank.
This is my weight rank right now. I'm like around 170 lb. Got like screen time ranks.
My screen time is pretty bad at the moment. So yeah, it's just interesting to see essentially how I rank up in all these different categories of life. I feel like I've never accomplished something by accident without measuring it. I feel like anytime I hit a goal that I actually set, it was because I was measuring it literally every single day.
There's just things that I care about and categories of life that I want to improve in.
So it just made sense to me that I should measure all of it. It's just for me really, but I have been making improvements in my life in all areas because I'm actually measuring it. And I also want to reach certain ranks.
I don't know. I think it's the gamer in me. Like I get really motivated by stuff like that.
So now that I have it set up, it just like automatically updates everything.
I do have to log everything individually, but yeah, it's not that bad.
The fun thing is like I set my own goals and my own standards for what I think is really exceptional. What I think is a radiant, which is like a high rank in Valerant, is different than what someone else might think. So, I like that I set my own rules for what certain ranks are. And most importantly, it shows me like how I'm actually living my life, like the real numbers.
The numbers don't lie. I'm going to go for my afternoon snack. Now, this is uh my midday preworkout meal. I usually just load up on some Greek yogurt, some granola, some honey. It's actually usually around like 600 calories, which is insane, but I just load up on granola and Yeah.
[music] >> [music] >> Only thing in my pocket is [music] probably some blue [singing] shadow.
She tried to leave me alone. Then she got right with my cling. I hope that she do better.
I [music] know it's blue on me. But when I got on my feet, I had a cougar.
[singing and music] in my city. >> There's like a 5minute period where the sun sets in New York and the sun is just hitting all these buildings and that time is literally right now. Like look at this. Look at this right now.
Perfect timing. Literally just caught the sunset. Empire State Building.
It's all lit up. I feel like I always miss this because I'm at the gym whenever the sun is setting.
I'm running late today though, so that's why I caught it today.
Anyways, I'm going to go to the gym now. Today we're heading back. I'm going to try to film as much as possible, but we'll see because this is a giant camera and it's kind of hard to get shots, but I'll try my best. All right.
[music] [music] >> Turbo cash. I got you. I light up cheating my pet the cond [music] I got to get laid my jacket all white don't mean that it's I clean up real nice I [singing] don't got a night shing live on paradise I don't see [music] the shade know the back I'm back on the road tripping [music] this more by the pound I'm never alone on the come in a two and [music] it is my dinner the whole [music] kid Take it easy for controller is le got umbrella so I cover her [music] weed open some money in a dream like diamonds cuz I'm straight like a line I really got [music] some yellow diamonds in my p don't get confused I'm still banging this okay I just got back from the gym had a really good workout I've been just doing like a classic push pull leg routine where I hit most body parts two times a week.
And recently, I've been trying to just focus on my forms. I think I'm doing like 50% of the weight that I was doing before, but it feels so much better.
I feel it so much more. I don't know, maybe it was just like me ego lifting or wanting to get the weight up each time. I feel like I was making decent progress before with bad form. So, now that I'm like locked in on form, I'm excited.
Dieting and working out is definitely one of those things where you have one good workout and I feel like it doesn't really mean anything or you hit your calorie goals for one day and so what? But yeah, I think seeing the progress as months go by is like super sick. I feel like I always thought about this stuff in like a shorter time scale. So sometimes I'd be like, "Oh, like in 3 months I want to look like this." But now I'm in the mindset of like what can I do in 3 years? Like 3 months is nothing. So yeah, I'm proud of my progress.
I'm just trying to keep it up. I'm going to go shower.
All right, I made myself some dinner. I literally just heated this up, but it's a burger with fries, which is crazy. I mean, it legit just tastes like a real burger.
[snorts] So good. I normally just throw something on the TV when I'm eating dinner, watch a YouTube video or something. But today, we're going to unbox something instead.
Kind of crazy. be unboxing something while eating a burger. Okay. I don't know why I got two, but I got this Aura Ring sizing kit because I'm upgrading my Aura Ring.
I've been using my Aura Ring to track my sleep on and off since like 2021, and I've been using the second generation one for a long time. So, I'm getting a a Gen 4 now, which is the latest one. Sleep is definitely very important to me.
I feel like if I get eight hours, I have an amazing day. If I have less than eight hours, depending on how little sleep I get, my day could be really bad.
There's certain things I'm willing to sacrifice, but I feel like sleep is one of those things where it actually affects my day-to-day performance. So, it's not something that I want to sacrifice. I literally always check my score first thing in the morning. And I guess it's just like having a little report card for your sleep. This is just a sizing kit so I can try on different sizes.
I might actually move up one size. Sometimes in the morning, I feel like my finger is swollen. Anyways, speaking of sleep, I need to sleep soon.
So, I'm gonna finish this burger. That's the thing is if I want to sleep early, I need to also eat early and I also need to hit my calorie goals because if I don't hit my calorie goals after I eat dinner, I'm scrambling to try to fit in some extra food and it gets too late and I end up eating late and whenever I eat right before I go to bed, I end up having terrible sleep. Anyways, I hope this video is interesting. I feel like this is really like my day-to-day routine.
A lot of times when I film these videos, I have interesting things going on, so I point the camera at it. But this is really like my average day.
And honestly, looking back on a week and feeling like I crushed every day that week and I did everything that I need to do each and every day, that's kind of like the best feeling. So that's what I chase nowadays. I'm just trying to be consistent.
I know it's going to compound. Not every day is perfect.
Some days are good, some days are bad. But yeah, honestly, whenever I have a bad day, I just try to make the next one better. Thank you guys for watching as always and I will see you in the next one.
