I'm going on a side quest and you're coming with me. There's no way this place is real.
[Music] I have officially fallen in love with Switzerland.
[Music] If I look happier right now, it's because I'm back to traveling alone. So,
I'm off to Switzerland right now. aka
the most expensive country in the world.
And I will be there for a week by myself. Basically, I will be on a
myself. Basically, I will be on a mission to find fluffy cows, frolic in the grass, and swim in some magical water.
[Music] So, the first thing I did when I landed at the airport was buy myself a little treat. And tell me why this was a whole
treat. And tell me why this was a whole $21.
But it's okay because we are in Switzerland. My next adventure was going
Switzerland. My next adventure was going to consist of me sitting on a train ride for a whole 3 hours.
I just made it to my hotel. So, the
first thing I noticed immediately when I landed is the way that the air is the crispiest air I've ever breathed in my life. And just look at my view. Like,
life. And just look at my view. Like,
what? How is Switzerland a real place?
You're telling me people get this much scenery everywhere they go? Like, I
don't think I've ever seen this much natural beauty in my entire life. So,
just for a quick little update, I did just take a 2-hour train ride from Zurich to Grindleald. Zurich is the main area where the airport is located and I decided to come visit Grindlewald, which is a small town here in Switzerland.
When I was planning my trip here, I really wanted to prioritize the most beautiful views, the most beautiful nature, and I really want to see some cute cows. I'm actually not supposed to
cute cows. I'm actually not supposed to check in for another 2 hours, so I just dropped off my luggage and I'm just going to go explore. I'm still in the same airport clothes. Let's not talk about it.
My first cow sighting.
[Music] It's so beautiful. There's nobody here.
I love it.
[Music] Once I got checked into my room and had a small bite, I changed into some comfy clothes and started heading to this lake
that I was wanting to spend the rest of my day at. I know I look like a mess, but this is me trying to look a little bit more put together and getting ready on the train.
[Music] Once I got to my destination, the first thing I did was go and pick up some snacks.
It started raining.
[Music] I'm so sad right now. I came all this way to come and check out this lake. I
was really wanting to come and go swim, but it just started raining and it's freezing cold. I still attempted to get
freezing cold. I still attempted to get in though because that wasn't going to stop me, but it just wasn't the vibe.
[Music] [Music] That felt so refreshing. That water is freezing cold, but it's so worth it.
Like, it actually feels so good.
I ended up spending hours at this lake.
Like, I did not want to leave. I might
cry again.
[Music]
Maybe this is my sign to resign from the city life and become a mermaid.
[Music] I feel so defeated right now because I accidentally went on the wrong train and got fined $121. Apparently, they're
really strict here when it comes to their train tickets. So, if you don't purchase the correct ticket for the train that you're in, you will get fined. I'm kind of whispering right now
fined. I'm kind of whispering right now because I'm actually staying in a hostel. I actually used to be terrified
hostel. I actually used to be terrified of host, but I actually stayed in one when I traveled to Iceland a couple months ago, and they're not that bad.
Like, this one is really cozy. I'm only
here for a couple nights. It's so crazy because it's only 9:00 p.m. and the sun is still out. Like the sun doesn't set here until I think 9:30. Also, look at the amount of steps that I've been walking every day. Ever since I got to
Europe, I've been averaging around 20,000 steps a day, which is crazy. But
I have been super unfazed by it. Ever
since I moved to New York, walk so much more. Anyways, I'm going to go to sleep
more. Anyways, I'm going to go to sleep now.
[Music] So this morning I decided to rent a scooter.
[Music] I'm actually going to be riding down to this hiking spot, which is where I'm
going to be spending most of the day today. Initially, I was thinking I
today. Initially, I was thinking I wanted to bike around here, but I feel like a scooter might be more of a vibe.
Before I hop on the scooter, though, let me give you an outfit of the day. I just
decided to go with some jeans and this brandy top that I just bought while I was in Italy. Then of course my New Balances.
[Music] On my way to the hike, I kept getting distracted by these cute little gift shops. I was telling myself not to buy
shops. I was telling myself not to buy anything, but then I found these cute little Switzerland baby teas and I couldn't help myself. I also made sure to buy myself an energy drink and a few small snacks to survive this hike. So
basically in Grindlewald you can take these cable cars up the mountain which has the most beautiful views and it takes you to the perfect hiking spa.
[Music] I have officially fallen in love with Switzerland.
[Music] Am I about to cry for the fourth time on this trip right now? In a 3-day span that I've been on this trip. Like the
way you will just casually stumbled upon the most insane views that you've ever seen in your life. Like I just decided to go on this random hike right now. I'm
just in my jeans. I decided to just stop and sit here on this grass to stare at this insane view. Like I would sit here for hours and hours if I could.
Yesterday when I went to the lake, I ended up staying there for most of the day just because I couldn't get enough of the views. And I'm kind of feeling the same way right now. Like I'm so jealous of people that are from Switzerland. The entire time I've been
Switzerland. The entire time I've been here, I've just been envisioning life here. Like I can just picture myself
here. Like I can just picture myself coming to spots like this every day, laying in the grass in my little journal or coloring book or just reading a book.
Like I'm only 10 minutes into this hike.
40 more minutes to go. The destination
is at this really pretty lake called Bell Chopsy. I totally said that wrong.
Bell Chopsy. I totally said that wrong.
Also have extra outfits because I know I'm going to want to take a ton of cute pictures here. I just didn't know if it
pictures here. I just didn't know if it was a good idea to hike in my skirt.
Also, so sorry. I'm at this point vlogging so much of this trip on my phone. Just so much easier. I don't know
phone. Just so much easier. I don't know if you could tell though. I feel like my iPhone has never failed me when it came to vlogging.
[Music] I have the urge to just run down there and frolic in the grass.
[Music] I made it to the lake. I'm just sitting at this random bench with a couple of my snacks. I don't know if you can tell,
snacks. I don't know if you can tell, but I'm kind of freezing. Like, my lips are chapped and my skin is dry.
[Music] Wait, I kind of want to change my shirt.
I ended up buying the Switzerland shirt and I want to wear it. It's kind of awkward. I had to find this like hiding
awkward. I had to find this like hiding spot. I don't even know if this fits.
spot. I don't even know if this fits.
Kind of does. Look at how cute my shirt is. It says Switzerland and it's
is. It says Switzerland and it's bedazzled.
[Music] [Music]
So, I was a little determined to get some photos in front of this beautiful view. And so, I fully went and just
view. And so, I fully went and just changed my outfit.
Anyways, then I went to go check out the cliffwalk, which is where you basically go and walk on the side of a mountain, which is a lot more nerve-wracking in real life because it literally feels like you could just fall down and die
any moment.
[Music] I ended up taking an hourong train ride up to Zurich. I kind of wanted to just have some chill vibes for the rest of the day, not do anything too crazy. So,
I got to explore this beautiful town, walk around, vibe it by myself.
So, on my way back home around 8:30 p.m., I thought I was cooked because not
p.m., I thought I was cooked because not only did I miss the last bus to get home, but it also started raining, which meant I was going to have to walk 40 minutes up a mountain to get home, which I didn't mind, but the issue was that it
started raining. I felt so defeated. But
started raining. I felt so defeated. But
then, 20 minutes into my walk, the rain ended up clearing up and the most beautiful rainbow that I've ever seen in my life formed in the sky.
It's a full rainbow.
It looks so bad.
There's no way this place is real.
I wanted to give you a haul of stuff I bought here in Switzerland. I thought
the stuff I picked out was so cute. A
lot of these are gifts. First, today I picked up these cute pink heart socks. I
bought some self-care stuff. I had
actually never seen a shower sponge like this. This is called a shower flower.
this. This is called a shower flower.
Apparently, you just put your soap in there. I already know I'm going to love
there. I already know I'm going to love this. I got this cute little shirt that
this. I got this cute little shirt that has the Switzerland logo. It's
bedazzled. I got a couple different chocolate bars, which I already started digging into. I was supposed to take
digging into. I was supposed to take these home, but I really wanted to try them. I might end up buying a couple
them. I might end up buying a couple more before I leave. I got these random face masks. This one is a matcha face
face masks. This one is a matcha face mask. Then this one is a pink bubble
mask. Then this one is a pink bubble mask. Then lastly, Switzerland magnet,
mask. Then lastly, Switzerland magnet, which is a gift. And this this is an
Evian Glow Facial Mist.
[Music] I have gotten a lot of questions on how I travel alone. So, I quickly wanted to pop in here to go over some things that
I do to ensure my safety, plus some travel tips that I have learned to make navigating so much easier when in a foreign country. I did also want to
foreign country. I did also want to thank Opera for sponsoring this portion of today's video. I have talked about how before I go on any trip, I will sit down, do research, plan, and make lists for everything. And Opera browser has
for everything. And Opera browser has made this process 10 times easier for me. I love using their built-in AI tool
me. I love using their built-in AI tool called Arya. And it's incredibly easy to
called Arya. And it's incredibly easy to access Arya's command line by just pressing either of these shortcuts.
Before going on this trip, I actually did use Arya to help me come up with my itinerary. All that I did was ask it,
itinerary. All that I did was ask it, "Can you help me plan a 3-day trip to Switzerland in July?" then gave me the best recommendations from places to eat, where to stay, and even a breakdown of how I would get around using public
transportation. Arya can also help me
transportation. Arya can also help me group related tabs, like the ones for accommodations, restaurants, and so on, into what's called tab islands, which I can easily expand or collapse whenever I
need. So much goes into planning these
need. So much goes into planning these trips, from watching endless travel guides to making lists for everything.
And Opera's split screen feature has been such a helpful tool for multitaskers like me. It lets me view two tabs side by side in the same window. I just drag one tab down and
window. I just drag one tab down and voila. It's perfect for when I'm typing
voila. It's perfect for when I'm typing out a packing list and my notes and then wanting to watch travel guides at the same time while I work. I'm also
obsessed with their video pop out feature. Allows me to play a YouTube
feature. Allows me to play a YouTube video in a floating window that stays on top of everything else. I can keep watching my favorite travel vlogs/ YouTubers while staying productive. Then
lastly, we have to discuss their floating music player which has also been a game changer. With this feature, I can control my music without needing my phone. It supports many streaming
my phone. It supports many streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, etc. All in all, Opera has become more than just a browser. It's like a multi-tool for
browser. It's like a multi-tool for managing my workflow. Make sure to download Opera for free using the link in my description and just go see for yourself how much easier planning your next trip can be. Because once you try
it, you can't go back.
[Music] Early morning hike. Good morning.
I have low percentage you guys. I have
given up on my appearance. Like I just do not care at this point. I literally
have no makeup, no lashes. The outfits
are not giving anymore. This is like day what? Keep in mind, I was just in Italy
what? Keep in mind, I was just in Italy for a whole week, so I already used up all my goat outfits. Honestly, now that I'm here, I really just want to be present. There's this whole hiking trail
present. There's this whole hiking trail right next to my hotel. Also, little
update on this whole solo trip. I have
been loving it. At first, I kind of came into this feeling a little bit anxious because, you know, I'm just like this little girly all alone going to a foreign country by herself. And as much as I love spending my time alone, still
can be a little bit intimidating. But
now that I've been here for 3 days, the vibes are looking up. This is my second solo trip, and once again, I'm just getting that intense feeling of gratefulness. Every time I get to travel
gratefulness. Every time I get to travel in general, it just reminds me to be grateful that I get to do things like this. Like, this is such a privilege.
this. Like, this is such a privilege.
And especially getting to do it by myself. Like, I just think about how if
myself. Like, I just think about how if I ever decide to have a family or a husband or something, I'm going to miss getting to do stuff like this. I don't
know. I just keep seeing a lot of families and then I'm like, uh, I can't imagine having to travel with kids.
Like, that must be so stressful because when you're by yourself, for me at least, the vibes are just so good. And
just getting to go at my own pace. I'm
like mid-hike right now. Are you guys seeing this? The background always just
seeing this? The background always just looks like it's straight out of a computer home screen.
I want to take a picture with him. How
do I summon him over here?
So, this was my last morning in Grindleald. This is me quickly last
Grindleald. This is me quickly last minute checking into my flight. Tomorrow
I leave for Germany. I'm going to be there for literally a day. I'm going
from Grindleald to Hamburg for literally no reason just because I had found a cheap flight. I feel like this year I
cheap flight. I feel like this year I just remembered I had free will and I've just been booking these trips back to back. I'm telling you, I was determined
back. I'm telling you, I was determined to have the ultimate Euro summer. Also,
my laptop just got water damaged. This
always happens every time I go on a trip. Like some way, somehow either my
trip. Like some way, somehow either my phone or my laptop ends up getting water inside of it. This was an accident. I
had put my laptop inside my backpack where I had my shower stuff and the water just touched the keyboard and this happened. I'm so thankful that it didn't
happened. I'm so thankful that it didn't completely shut down though.
I'm checked in Zurich to Hamburg. Oh yeah. Also, I'm
kind of proud because I was looking through the photos that I've been taking this week and they turned out so cute. I
was like sending them in the group chat.
Just look at how good that they turned out. Like I took these by myself. I feel
out. Like I took these by myself. I feel
like in the past whenever I would post travel vlogs, I would always get asked how I take my photos. And I remember there was a comment that assumed I would ask people to take my photos, which does happen sometimes. Like people will
happen sometimes. Like people will sometimes just offer to take your photo, but that's not even the case. Like I
fully will bring my tripod and just whip it out in public. I don't care. It
definitely does take a certain level of confidence to do that. But I feel like the fact that I've been doing social media for so long has taken my self-confidence in public to another level. Like I kind of just get into the
level. Like I kind of just get into the mindset I'm just some random tourist that these people are never going to see again. The worst that will happen is
again. The worst that will happen is that they'll silently judge you in their head, but then they'll forget about your existence a couple minutes later.
