So, this all started with one random thought I jotted down. I had just watched this YouTube channel called Yellow Cherry Jam, right? They make
these beautiful real life low-fi music videos. No AI, no fancy effects, right?
videos. No AI, no fancy effects, right?
They're literally in poppy fields and by the the ocean, right? It's just wild and it's crazy. And I don't know, something
it's crazy. And I don't know, something about it just hit me. Well, everyone
else is using AI to generate visuals and music. They went the other direction.
music. They went the other direction.
They zagged. And then I wrote this line down. I want to wonder into Zaggerland.
down. I want to wonder into Zaggerland.
[music] Right? I didn't even know what it meant yet. It just resonated. Now,
here's the thing. I could have just let that moment pass, right? I've done that before. I noticed something really cool
before. I noticed something really cool and then poof, it's gone. But I had Sublime open. And this tool is just
Sublime open. And this tool is just simple. It gets out of the way. So, I
simple. It gets out of the way. So, I
wrote it down in my own words. No
[music] pressure, no formatting, just me. And what I didn't expect was what
me. And what I didn't expect was what happened next. Sublime started surfacing
happened next. Sublime started surfacing ideas that fit quotes from people like Richard Whitaker who says, "Go deeper and weirder and make something that is so human and so strange it can't be
duplicated [music] by an algorithm." Wow, what a quote. Or
like this one right from Asylum Ventures says, "More beauty and craft, less factory line, more weird and rebellious, less safe and derivative, more really hard inspired work, [music] less status
games, more authentic expression of self, and less Patagonia vests." Or this one from the poetic path. I mean, we can't out AI and AI, but we can out human it. Now is the time to lean into
human it. Now is the time to lean into our humanity. Yes, we can both do
our humanity. Yes, we can both do pattern recognition and AI can do it faster and more astutely. But it can't feel. [music] It can't create the
feel. [music] It can't create the unknown. It can only regurgitate. Right?
unknown. It can only regurgitate. Right?
There are the cracks in the pavement where living things sprout. [music]
Where what is innately beautiful life emerges or even the one from the founder of Sublime herself. In a world where people can outsource productivity to
technology, the people who reap the biggest rewards aren't [music] those who work the fastest. They're the people who make the things that are wonderful and original, [music] weird, emotionally
resonant and authentic. As our feeds become flooded with instant AI generated content, the most dangerous thing that [music] you can do is play it safe. And
I started thinking, wait a minute, this isn't just a cool phrase, right? This
Zaggerland phrase, right? No, it's it's a place. It's a it's even a mindset,
a place. It's a it's even a mindset, right? A whole landscape I've been
right? A whole landscape I've been slowly building without even realizing it. And I just like found this whole
it. And I just like found this whole land that I created because I first wrote down the idea in [music] an environment in a notetaking app that speaks back to me, right? I wrote the
raw thoughts in my own words, right? In
a tool that was simple and easy to use and it took my little seed of Zaggerland and helped me find the little furnishings for my little Zagurland corner, right? That's what I love about
corner, right? That's what I love about Sublime. It doesn't tell me what to
Sublime. It doesn't tell me what to think. It doesn't make me put things in
think. It doesn't make me put things in categories, right? It just brings me
categories, right? It just brings me supporting voices like a gentle chorus around a thought I already had. And I
think we all need Zaggerland, right? A
place to make the strange soulful stuff.
A garden, not a feed. A place where you don't have to optimize. [music]
You just have to pay attention and notice.
So if you ever have a little moment, some weird honest line that makes your soul perk up, don't ignore it. [music]
Write it down. You never know, that little line might just turn into your next breakthrough idea. If you want to try out Sublime, I'll drop a link below.
But even if you don't use any tool, [music] here's my encouragement. Write things
down. Especially the strange Zaggerland stuff, right? That's where the good soil
stuff, right? That's where the good soil
