The Perfect First Adventure In My New 992.2 Porsche GT3

By Cars with Luke

Summary

## Key takeaways - **Endless Brake Pads Obsession**: New Endless Racing brake pads offer improved braking, but the real reason is massively reduced brake dust since I'm obsessed with clean wheels. Improved braking is just a plus. [01:35], [01:54] - **GT3 Better Value than Pista**: My GT3 spec cost around 222,000 Swiss Francs, while the cheapest used 488 Pista with 80,000 km is 220,000 and a Pista Spider is 577,000. Suddenly GT3 becomes really good value. [03:22], [04:00] - **GT3 More Enjoyable than Pista**: Found my GT3 more enjoyable than the Pista; Pista is epic but insanely fast, heavily turbocharged, wheel spinning in third, fourth gear. Naturally aspirated engine better to enjoy on street, bringing up revs slowly. [04:42], [05:12] - **Run-In Builds Confidence**: Doing running kilometers gave time to get to know the car and feel much more confident with it now. Would definitely do that again with a new supercar, driving normally for first 1500 km. [08:05], [08:25] - **992 GT3 Ultimate Usability**: 992 GT3 is such a usable car for bit of everything: daily, track, fun; can use for buying milk, not just special occasions. Older now, appreciate usability over hardcore like 991 GT3 RS with super hard suspension. [08:42], [13:11]

[Music] In today's episode, together with my good friend Kol, we head high up into the Swiss Alps for my first real drive with my new 992.2 GT3 since it has been fully run in. But first of all,

we start off with a quick stop at King Racing Garage for a small upgrade.

[Music] And here is the small upgrade. My new Endless Racing brake pads. of course improved braking, but honestly for me, the real reason I wanted these is the massively reduced brake dust. I am personally slightly obsessed with having clean wheels and the improved braking. It's just a plus. I ordered

these and actually most of my car parts over the last years from a company called trackparts.ch

who I've linked below today's video. Here at King Racing, they also fitted my exhaust. I've actually

just started working with these guys. super nice workshop, really nice guys. Can highly recommend.

I'm also going to link them below. And I get a lot of questions about where to take cars for suspension setups, etc. in Switzerland. So, they also did my suspension setup a bit lower, bit more camber, like a fast road setup on my GT3. Feels perfect. Few other cool things around. There's a

Pista from Monaco here. I just love Ferraris in yellow actually. It's probably my favorite color in a Ferrari. And there's another cool Porsche out here as well, which I would like to show you from the owner of this garage, 911 Turbo from the owner of King Racing. Super cool car. It's a 3.3,

I believe, with the RS wing. Really cool color. And I definitely need to ask him about going to film with this. Actually, it's a it's a really cool car. I think he's actually had this for like, what did he say, like 10 years? A long time. Even more, like 12, 13 years he's had this car for. So

I need to ask him definitely to take this out at some point. We're just discussing Ferrari which is always an interesting topic and about the cost of a pista for example. So the cheapest pista we found now in Switzerland with 80,000 km was like 220 wasn't it? 220 with 80,000 km. Now

the spec of my GT3 I think to be exact is was like around 220 something 222 223 something like that.

sounds expensive but when you compare it to a PIsta suddenly it becomes a really good value. So,

the cheapest looking now on um online in Switzerland, the cheapest 488 Pista Spider is, bear with me, most of them are above 600,000. The cheapest spider used is 577,000.

That's crazy. Swiss Franks, which is like for us, we were just discussing it. It's like this is mind boggling, right? It's like 577,000 just because it's a Spider. Now, I know I'm not a Ferrari guy.

boggling, right? It's like 577,000 just because it's a Spider. Now, I know I'm not a Ferrari guy.

I really like Ferrari, don't get me wrong. Love the cars. Happily, always drive one. But it just feels so hard to justify that amount of money when my car costs like 220 something and a spider costs over half a million, more than double. But also like we made a video together in a in a Pista.

You've driven it. And how would you compare them? Like what do you actually get to enjoy more? So I

I found my GT3 more enjoyable than driving the PA is epic but insanely fast, really heavily turbocharged. You It's just wheel spinning in third, fourth gear. It's a complete maniac which

turbocharged. You It's just wheel spinning in third, fourth gear. It's a complete maniac which is what also makes it fun. But I like bringing up the rev slowly. The naturally aspirated engine, you get to enjoy that better on the street. Brake air. Yeah. Ah, it's from this one. So cool.

Already broken the GT3 within 1700 km. There's quite a lot of aero underneath. And this is the part that's snapped off. So it's brake cooling aero. This one, right? Yeah, I would say. You

see here on this one. So it sticks out really far actually. Same. Yeah. Do you have glue? We order

a new one. I don't want you to be my mechanic. So, I could could sell it. Does anyone want to buy this? and just before this as well, we were talking about putting it lower. Yeah, maybe not.

buy this? and just before this as well, we were talking about putting it lower. Yeah, maybe not.

[Applause] Heat.

We arrived at the susten pass, stopping at the top just to take it all in. Really

a spectacular area. During the war years of 1798 and 1799, the system pass was actually used as an approach route by the French to trap the Austrians. It's full of history, which I'll go more into detail another time, but as of today, it's visited by

thousands for its dreamlike views and its perfect mountain road to experience your car. [Music]

[Music] You've driven a McLaren? Yes. On the front they have these little pockets. Exactly. To put the key in right here because here like it's nice but can rattle if you Yeah. Even in the middle then it's like plastic in here. It's little things like this where I would always line every storage

compartment with like text. But you also take away the sound of like the rattling rattling and plastic. Nothing worse than that. So I see GT3s are also not perfect. Big positive thing I learned

plastic. Nothing worse than that. So I see GT3s are also not perfect. Big positive thing I learned now from doing the running kilometers was it gave me time to get to know the car. Mhm. And I I would definitely do that again with a new supercar, even if it had the running kilometers already to

drive it normally for the first 1500 kilometers. I really got to know the car and felt now felt much more confident with it. Anyway, I've been using this now the last 500 km just bit of everything

really, which is part of the reason I wanted 992 again. Such a usable car. As you know, got the JCR valved titanium muffler on, just the muffler. So, it's still the stock cats and OPF filter. And the

sound it puts out is just phenomenal. Bearing in mind, it's only the muffler change. It is one of my favorite sounds. What a what a change it like just a muffler and you get that. Yeah. Absolutely

crazy. And you've not heard it yet with the valves open. Of course, this is valves closed. Open now.

So good. So I've also not driven it properly yet.

Bouncing off the walls on the Susten Pass.

It really puts a smile on your face. God, it just doesn't get much better than this.

[Music] Because actually that's the first time I've heard it probably also. Yeah,

because the last weeks it was just raining. So although I've been driving it after the run in kilometers, I was just driving it normally. Yeah, it's quite special. That's special,

man. What a sound. This just offers so much to me. Like we we've got all of our luggage uh camera gear in the front, both of us. Yeah, we didn't even need to use any space behind.

That frunk is uh surprisingly big. Yeah, it's super usable. Very usable. I can also put it into normal mode, close the valves. You know, it's still quite noisy, but it's really usable.

[Music] That was 9,000 RPM. Yeah.

Yeah. That's amazing. I feel a bit giggly, you know, like Yeah, definitely. My whole

inside is just so happy right now. That saying when when you say because race car, it really is that with the GT3 because race car. That's it. It just feels sometimes a bit wrong. Like I'm driving this. I'm like, are you sure this is a road legal car?

wrong. Like I'm driving this. I'm like, are you sure this is a road legal car?

Is this really not a race car? Believe, isn't it? Yeah. Let's go past this bus. Now I can It was really difficult overtaking stuff um before with the run in cuz I couldn't go above 5,000 RPM and then I realized, oh, okay, that makes it really difficult and dangerous to overtake because

I couldn't accelerate past. So, I was just stuck behind caravans for the first 1500 km. [Music]

[Music] Wow. Nice. Until you hit a camper van. Yeah, exactly. Which is every

Wow. Nice. Until you hit a camper van. Yeah, exactly. Which is every other corner at the moment. Yeah. But until then, pretty nice. Doing a steady 35 in an 80. We're not going to complain about campers. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit maybe.

80. We're not going to complain about campers. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit maybe.

downshifts in the tunnel are some of my favorite. It's the thing is right like this is so usable in so many different ways. Whether you want to go for it, have some fun on track, use it daily, you can. I have to admit, I feel like now I'm older. Yeah. It also came a bit with age that

you can. I have to admit, I feel like now I'm older. Yeah. It also came a bit with age that now I just appreciate and look for something with so much usability because I had more hardcore cars

or like the 991 GT3 RS amazing but it was really hardcore suspension was super hard and I realised that I just wanted a car that I could use for everything. Yeah. and just to use it. Actually,

that was more the point. Like not just have it for like a special occasion car, but I want the GT3 that I can use for just going to buy milk or just And you can you can really Yeah, that's the beauty of it. Spider RS. Yeah.

Did you hear that whip? Oh my goodness. Naughty. Yeah.

[Music] The suspension is the biggest improvement for me because they updated the software in this and it rides so good. Bearing in mind what the car is and there's some big bumps here. Like I don't know about you, but it's like it it's how it takes the bumps. It's It's I'm not like breaking my back

or like in my 991 I was like this on camera the whole time and this just it just takes it takes it. Yeah. It's super smooth. Yeah. My favorite part was when I was following you in a I was in a

it. Yeah. It's super smooth. Yeah. My favorite part was when I was following you in a I was in a Macan. Yeah. And I had to absolutely gun it around a corner where you were in sixth gear cruising.

Macan. Yeah. And I had to absolutely gun it around a corner where you were in sixth gear cruising.

What? Like one finger on the corner. One finger on the corner and you It's just so planted. It is a go-kart and it took effort to keep up with you. Yeah. And it's funny like I get so used to the way this corners you don't break much like going down the pass. You can It's about for me keeping

that momentum. Not about driving fast, but when you can hold that constant 80 kph and not break,

that momentum. Not about driving fast, but when you can hold that constant 80 kph and not break, it's such a crazy satisfying feeling. Just it it's a bit like I don't know like surfing or something.

It's just this constant momentum or like doing a wheelie on your mountain bike when you're a kid, like holding this constant balance. And and the beauty is you're you feel so connected to it.

It's not like a modern car that does everything for you like most Audi's do. You know, you just turn and it does it all. You connect with it. You can feel every millimeter. And like you said, when you're also trying to go around that corner at the same speed, you're also in the car like

flying across through the car. And in this, you just just sat normally. Yeah. [Music]

Ending off today's trip on the Or out pass because Cole has never seen it. And there was one last

shot that we wanted to film, which is a driveby to really hear what my GT3 sounds like. [Music]

[Music] We spent the final light just hanging out and discussing Bladeunner, which is not only one of my favorite films, but actually the reason I wanted a black GT3. I would call that a fairly perfect day.

baseline checks because at one point you will start to question your existence, right? And they want to control everyone. But if they can't feel anything, why why why would

right? And they want to control everyone. But if they can't feel anything, why why why would he have a woman in his life that clearly has passed away or something? Well, they can feel certain things. Yeah. It's like company. Yeah. Joy. Yeah. Yeah. I'm looking forward to dude.

certain things. Yeah. It's like company. Yeah. Joy. Yeah. Yeah. I'm looking forward to dude.

Yeah. The movie is just I I need to watch it again tonight. Okay. Yeah. and watch Blade Runner like [Music]
